These are chips that would have been served in the 1950's. Chips are easily breakable, and with one bite the whole thing can shatter into pieces. This is like the relationship between Ray and the brothers. Their relationship cracks like a bite into a chip, and there is no fixing it.

Coke would be served at the meal because of the relevance it has to McDonalds. It was debated in the movie whether to be sponsored by Coke or not. In the 1950's this was an upcoming popular drink, and it quickly became a controversial step in the growth of McDonalds.
In the 1950's TV dinners began to be extremely popular. This is because of convenience of the meal, and the growth of teenage enterprise like movies and music. When people could heat up a meal and sit in front of their TV, life was easy and efficient, alike McDonald's and its reason for success It was convenient, fast, and cheap.

For dessert there will be milkshakes served. Before Ray Kroc found McDonald's, he was making a living selling milkshake mixers. The McDonald's brothers called him for mixers, and that is how Ray found them.
